We've been very lucky to be embraced by the Austin community and we try very hard to give something back. So far we have donated over $332,000 to various causes within the city. From Austin Children's Shelter, The Austin American-Statesman's Season for Caring campaign, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Central Texas to Dell's Children's Medical Center, Capital Area Food Bank, Foundation for the Homeless, lots of schools and other organizations. They are a big part of who we are and we are delighted to make a contribution to help them with their success.
We have chosen our 2014 recipients and they are:
Saturday, March 29: Strong Start – Strong Start's mission is to prevent the cycle of child abuse and neglect by early intervention that focuses on building successful and resilient children, strengthening parents and preserving families.
Saturday, June 14: HeartGift Foundation-Austin Chapter – HeartGift brings children from developing countries around the world to Austin for free surgery to correct life-threatening heart defects. The organization arranges for airline-donated transportation and takes care of expenses including a portion of medical costs. Skilled surgeons and pediatric cardiologists and their staffs, Dell Children's Medical Center and many other professionals and volunteers donate their time, talent, effort and resources to save these children.
Saturday, September 27: Foundation Communities – Foundation Communities provides first class, affordable housing and free onsite support services in ten Austin apartment and duplex communities for thousands of working families with kids as well as veterans, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. The organization helps enable families to end the cycle of poverty through on-site programs that increase literacy and financial stability.
Saturday, December 13: Season for Caring – The Austin American-Statesman's holiday charity campaign helps a number of featured families and hundreds of others through locals non-profit agencies.
If you have or know of a cause that could use a little help, let us know.
